German Greenland seal hunting satisfactory in contrary to the whaling according to the Dutch newspaper Leydse courant dated 2 July 1731

An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 30 June reported the arrival of a seal hunter with 60 barrels blubber at Rem near Husim, Germany leaving the ice on 5 June. Her master reported that the results of the seal hunting really improved. He spoke a Greenland whaler returning from the north who said that the ships arrived late at the ice and that the Greenland whaling was no succes. Commandeur Klaas Franger caught just one whale. On the Elbe, Germany arrived two seal hunters one of Gluckstadt and one of Hamburg.
