A deed dated 10 April 1657 (notary Lambert Adriaensz Schorel nr. 488) mentioned that Huijbert Ysbransz Beets of Edam hired on behalf of his company from her master the ship Coninck David with as dimensions 118 x 23 x 4 (hold) and 5.5 (above) for ƒ 2.150 to be used as a Greenland whaler.
