The enemy submarines on the Atlantic Ocean according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee daily summary dated 1 May 1942

An item reported that the number of enemy submarines active in the Atlantic Ocean west of the longitude of the Azores was estimated to number 24 units by 30 April. One of the two enemy submarines seemed to leave her position off the Brazilian coast for a new position of the coast of British Guiana.
