American whaler Lagoda visited Port Russell, New Zealand according to the New Zealand newspaper Daily Southern Cross dated 11 April 1874

An item reported the arrival at the port of Russell, New Zealand on 13 March of the American whaler Lagoda captain Lewis returning from whaling after 8 months at sea with 300 barrels of oil. She spoke the Milton with had since her departure caught 160 barrels whale oil. A second item reported the arrival 14 March with 120 barrels sperm oil 180 barrels whale oil.
