A letter of the Reichskommisar für die Seeschiffahrt dated Berlin 25 October 1943 was dealing with building and fitting out of ships to be used on the Black Sea. He supplied details about several kinds of inland vessels. For Ruse, Bulgaria:
The largest so-called Greek barges has as dimensions 75,1 x 11,00 x 3,53 (loaded) metres, the ones with the largest beam 64,00 x 11.6 x 3,5 (loaded) metres and the ones with the largest draught 69,00 x 11,00 x 4,75 (loaded) metres. The screw tugs serving on the lower Danube were smaller as the barges. .
