Russian ship attacked by anonymous submarine according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 18 May 1942

An item reported the arrival of a Russian ship at Newcastle, south east Australia which was on 16 May attacked by gunfire from a submarine. She was just slightly damage and some crew members were light wounded.
