Japanese air force destroyed several Chinese warships according to the Dutch newspaper De Indische courant dated 6 October 1937

An item dated Shanghai, China reported that Japanese aircraft bombed and sunk until now 16 Chinese warships including the 2.400 tons cruiser Ping Hai, 2.850 tons cruiser Hai Chou, 2.750 tons cruiser Ying Swei, 2.600 tons cruiser Chao Ho, an anonymous 2.500 tons tanker, and 2 4.300 tons Hai Chi type cruisers.
