Dutch passenger annex cargo ship Marnix van St. Aldegonde 1928-1943

Laid down by N.V.N.V. Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw-Maatschappij, Amsterdam, Netherlands with yard number 195 on 8 December 1928, launched on 21 December 1929, completed on 12 September 1930, since May 1941 troop transport and sunk as part of convoy KMF-25 underway from Liverpool, England towards Salerno, Italy off Cape Bougaroni on 7 November 1943 after she was hit in an air attack by the German Kampfgeschwader 26 Dornier 217 a day earlier. O the N.V. Stoomvaart Maatschappij Nederland, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Gross tonnage 19.129 tons, net tonnage 11.403 tons, deadweight 10.879 tons, grain cargo capacity 437.890 cubic feet, bale cargo capacity 385.339 cubic feet and dimensions 176.79 x 22.70 x 11.98 metres.
