Bulgarian king Boris III visited British cruiser HMS London according to the Dutch newspaper De Gooi- en Eemlander dated 18 January 1935

An item dated Sofia, Bulgaria 17 January reported the visit of king Boris (1), prince Cyril (2) and the minister of war [general Slatef] (3) on the British cruiser HMS London (4) lying at Varna where he was offered a lunch by the commanding officer of the squadron.

Notes

1. Boris III, king between 3 October 1918-28 August 1943 (18 January 1894 Sofia, Bulgaria-28 August 1943 Sofia Bulgaria).

2. His younger brother Kiril, Prince of Preslav (17 November 1895 Sofia, Bulgaria-1 February 1945 Sofia, Bulgaria), prince regent of Bulgaria 28 August 1943-9 September 1944).

3. That must be Pencho Zlatev or Petko Ivanov Zlatev (2 November 1881-24 July 1948) minister between 19 May 1934-21 April 1935. He was between 22 January and 21 April 1935 even prime minister.

4. Part of the County class heavy cruisers, preceded by Hawkins-class and succeeded by York-class, laid down by Portsmouth Dockyard, United Kingdom on 23 February 1926, launched on 14 September 1927, commissioned on 31 January 1929, sold to be broken up on 3 January 1950 which started on 2 January.
