An item referred to the Börsennachrichten der Ostzee that the South Sea whaler Borussia master Hartwig was lying at Stettin. Off the coast of Kamchatka Hartwig spoke the master of an American whaler who asked him if he was familiar with Wolgast. Hartwig told him that he was born. Next the American master said that his father now living at New Bedford, USA was also born in Wolgast. His father appeared to be a brother of Hartwig who disappeared 40 years ago. Hartwig enlisted himself harpooners at New Bedford passing many times the house of his brother without knowing.
