German torpedo planes attacking convoy to Murmansk, Russia according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee Daily summary dated 7 May 1942

An item reported that three of the 25 ships of eastbound Murmansk, Russia convoy were torpedoed off the Norwegian north coast by German torpedo planes. The Joint Intelligence Committee commented that this was the first time. Earlier torpedo planes attack in early April (Summary no. 115) at least one of the Norwegian cargo ships escaping from Göteborg, Sweden.
