An item reported that at the Marti Shipyard, Nikolayev, Ukraine one of the two long slipways the uncompleted hull of an aircraft carrier, which was estimated to measure 20.000 tons, was under construction with the aid of German technicians who worked before at the German aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin. On the second slipway was also a somewhat 20 metres shorter ship under construction which was believed to be an aircraft carrier although less advanced. For already some time showed the construction of the second hull no substantial progress and the CIA informant remarked that this was caused by insufficient quality of the labourers and experience of the involved technicians. It was not be expected that both ships were completed within the next 3 years.
