American bark Angola sold to the Russian American Company according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 25 March 1848

An item reported that the American bark Angola of Salem lying at Honolulu was sold to the Russian American Company and that morning the Russian flag was hoisted on board.(1)

1. This company was founded on 8 July 1799, purchased Alaska in 1867 and ended her activities in 1881. Was active in the fur trade.
