British 4th submarine flotilla intended to visit Japan and Hong Kong according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary Nr. 10 for the week ending 11 September 1920

An item reported that the British submarine depot ship HMS Titania (1) and L5 (2), L8 (3), L19 (4), L20 (5) and L33 (6) would probably leave Wei-hai-Wei around 29 September towards Japan, returning on 23 October and than due Hong Kong on 10 December.

1. F32. Built as the Royal Hungarian Sea Navigation Company Adria as the merchant ship Károly Ferencz József by the Clyde Shipbuilding Company, Glasgow, Scotland with yard number 310, taken over by the British Royal Navy still on stocks, launched on 4 March 1915, commissioned as the submarine depot ship Titania in November 1915 and broken up at Faslane, Scotland in June 1949. Dimensions 350.0 x 46.4 x 18.0 (depth) feet, gross register tonnage 3.542 tons and displacement 5.250 tons.

2. Part of L-class submarines Group 1 (L1-class), preceded by E-class, succeeded by Odin-class. Laid down by Swan Hunter, Wallsend on 23 August 1916, launched on 26 January 1918, commissioned on 15 May 1918 and sold to be broken up in 1931.

3. Part of L-class submarines Group 1 (L1-class), preceded by E-class, succeeded by Odin-class. Laid down by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead on 28 May 1916, launched on 7 July 1917, commissioned on 12 March 1918 and sold to be broken up on 7 October 1930.

4. Part of L-class submarines Group 2 (L9-class), preceded by E-class, succeeded by Odin-class. Laid down by Vickers Limited, Barrow-in-Furness, England on 18 July 1917, launched on 4 February 1918, completed on 2 August 1919 and sold to be broken up on 12 April 1937.

5. Part of L-class submarines Group 2 (L9-class), preceded by E-class, succeeded by Odin-class. Laid down by Vickers Limited, Barrow-in-Furness, England on 26 July 1917, launched on 23 September 1918, commissioned on 28 January 1919 and sold to be broken up on 7 January 1935.

6. Part of L-class submarines Group 2 (L9-class), preceded by E-class, succeeded by Odin-class. Laid down by Swan Hunter, Wallsend on 26 September 1917, launched on 29 May 1919, completed on 22 December 1919 and sold to be broken up in February 1932.
