Launched by F. Schichau, Elbing, Germany with yard number 365 on 1 October 1887, commissioned on 3 May 1888, served as flagship for torpedo boat and minesweeper flotillas, modified in 1903, coastal defence vessel since 1914, submarine training vessel since 1916, added to a minesweeper flotilla in 1919, stricken on 7 December 1920 was she scrapped at Wilhelmshaven, Germany in 1921. Displacement 249 (design)300 (maximum) tons and as dimensions 57.64 (over all) x 6.80 x 1.96 (forward)-3.23 (aft) metres. One vertical triple expansion steam 2.200 ihp (design)/235 rpm engine, maximum speed 20.3 knots and with 55 ton coal bunker capacity a range with a speed of 14 knots 1.940 nautical miles respectively 18/660. Armament consisted of 6-3.7cm machine guns (after 1893 replaced by 3-5cm 40 cal torpedo guns) and 3-45cm torpedo tubes (2 deck mounted, 1 submerged in the bow)
