An item reported that a American US naval task force attacked on 24 February Wake Island with the loss of one plane. Cruisers and destroyers shelling the island and aircraft bombing the shore installations and landing field throwing 36-500 pound and 182-100 pound bombs. The Japanese lost a patrol boat and 3 large seaplanes.
