The Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1906-1907.reported that the French armoured cruisers Chanzy and Bruix (1) visited Sabang, Dutch East Indies on 2 January 1907. (2) The Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 12 April 1907 mentioned a visit without giving a exact dated for both ships coming from Colombo, Sri Lanka and bound for Saigon, French Indochina.

1. Of the Amiral Charner-class armoured cruisers consisting of the Amiral Charner, Bruix (1891-1921), Chanzy (1890-1907) and Latouche-Tréville, preceded by the Dupuy de Lôme and succeeded by the Pothua.
