Italian protected cruiser Vesuvio visited Sabang, Dutch East Indies in 1906

The Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1906-1907 reported that the Italian cruiser Vesuvio (1) visited Sabang, Dutch East Indies on 17 November 1906.

Notes

1. Part of Etna-class protected cruisers, preceded by Giovanni Bausan, succeeded by Dogali, laid down by Cantieri navale fratelli Orlando, Livorno, Italy on 10 July 1883, launched on 21 March 1886, commissioned on 16 March 1888, stricken on 11 May 1911 and sold to be broken up in 1915.

2. Sabang had an important coal bunkering station.
