Australian screw steam gunboat HMAS Victoria 1884-1896 (1920)

Building ordered by the colony of Victoria in 1883. Launched by Messr Wm. Armstrong, Mitchell&Co., Elswick, England on 25 June 1883, completed in January 1884, departed on 3 February 1884, arrived on 2 June 1884, in 1895 laid up, purchased by the Western Australian Government to be used as tug in 1896, sold to the Sydney tug company Fenwicks in 1902, resold on 1 April 1920, abandoned as a hulk in the Kerosene Bay, Sydney and later scrapped. Steel built. Displacement 530 tons and as dimensions 145 x 27 x 11 feet. Speed 12 knots with 800hp horsepower. Crew numbered 44 men. Armament consisted of 1-25.4cm/1l” 25 ton gun positioned in a protected citadel on the fore ship, 2-12pd guns and 2 Nordenfelt machine guns.
