Merchant ships harassed by enemy submarines on the Atlantic Ocean according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 21 August 1942

An item reported that enemy submarines attacked non-escorted ships in the west part of the Atlantic Ocean in the current month mostly within an around 600 miles radius to the east- and southeastward of Trinidad. In the longitudes west of Trinidad were 4 such attacks reported.
