An item dated Rome, Italy 27 October referred to the Agencia Stefanis reporting that the Italian ironclad Dandolo (1) accompanied by the destroyer Climene (2) arrived on 26 October at Valona. There were already the cruiser Agordat (3) and destroyer Dardo lying (4). The Dandolo was loaded with nursery equipment with the intention to cooperate with the local authorities in establishing a sanitary facility and to help the fled Epirotes. The warship Calabria (5) on short notice to be accompanied by the Etna (6) was patrolling along the coastline of mid Albania to prevent weapon smugling.
