England seized a large number of French merchant ships according to the Dutch newspaper Haagsche courant dated 21 May 1941

An item reported that the French merchant marine consisted on 3 March 1941 of 1,516,746 tons tonnage. England seized before that date 508,700 tons. Since 3 March seized England another 19 ships with a total tonnage of 90,000 tons. Totally were 190 French ships seized by the English.
