Steam tube on board Chilean ironclad Husacar exploded according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens 1896 no. 11

An item referred to the l’Observatore navale which reported that on board of the Chilean ironclad Huascar a steam tube sprung causing the death of 15 men.

1. Ironclad turret ordered on 4 August 1864, launched by Laird Brothers, Birkenhead, England for account of Peru on 6 October 1865, commissioned by Chile in the Battle of Angamos on 8 October 1879, decommissioned in 1897, nowadays museum ship.
