An item reported that draughtsmen at the shipyards of the Japanese Mitsubishi concern were preparing the design drawings of a nuclear submarine tanker with a length of 180 metres, 23 metres hold and an estimated cruising speed off 2 knots. Experts experimented during the last year experiments with the hull shape, costs 30,000 US dollars for more details about the water pressure versus maximum diving depth. Estimated building costs were twice that of a common tanker despite 1,500 ton steel less was needed. Drawings were to be completed within some months.
