An item reported the sighting of a Soviet modified Kronshtadt-class anti submarine vessel. The funnel was remvoved just like most of her armament and aft was she fitted out with a new small superstructure. Further more ware a lot of whip aerials visible. It was possible that she was to be used a flotilla-leader or headquarters ship but nothing was sure.(1)
Note
1. Kronshtadt-class submarine chasers or Project 122bis succeeded by SO1-class submarine chasers succeeded by Poti-class corvettes built between 1945-1955. Jane’s Fighting Ships 1961-1962 stated that the Kronshtadt-class was an improved Artillerist-class version. Probably was a Libau-class Project 357 despatch vessel-training ship-communications ship sighted with used the same hull built in the 1950s.
