Fish-freezing plant established at Buenaventure, Colombia according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated January 1960 no. 1

An item reported the founding of a new fish-freezing plant in the harbour of Buenaventura, Colombia expected to be operation in November-December1959. Storage capacity 500,000 pounds, freezing capacity of 30 metric tons and cod drying capacity of 30 tons. Costs 191,000 US dollars against rate exchange of 7,84 pesos/1 US dollar. Plant personnel numbered 300 men and the fish was supplied by 50 fishing vessels crewed by 250 fishermen.
