French warship Le Glorieux captured several Dutch and German Greenland whalers according to the Dutch newspaper Amsterdamse courant dated 20 August 1695

An item dated St. Jan de Lux, France 17^th August reported that the French warship Le Glorieux captured the next Dutch Greenland whalers for ration namely the Matheus commandeur Reyndert Bons, t Zeepaert commandeur Jan Dirksz which was of Hamburg, Germany, Pampiermole commandeur Albert Klaese van Saendyk, Vergulde Klok van Hoorn commandeur Jacob Cornelisz, t Geloof van Enkhuizen commandeur Pieter Quyken and one of which the name was unknown. The Dutch Greenland whaler St. Nicolaes arrived with a catch of 12 whales.
