Part of Zara-class heavy cruisers preceded by Trento-class succeeded by Bolzano. Laid down by Odero Terni Orlando, Muggiano, Italy on 4 July 1929, launched on 27 April 1930, commisioned on 20 October 1931 and sunk on 29 March 1941 in the Battle of Cape Matapan against British battleships.
