Japanese cargo ship Ayatosan Maru 1939-1942

Built by Tama Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Tama, Japan in 1939 for account of Mitsui Bussan Kaisho, while used as a army cargo ship sunk by the USAAF aircraft off Buna, New Guinea on 22 July 1942. Gross tonnage 7,400 tons and as dimensions 476.2 x 64.0 x 40.7 x 13 (light)-29 (loaded feet. Diesel propulsion with 1,646 nhp/9,600 bhp horsepower a speed of 17 (normal cruising)-20 (maximum) knots and with a fuel oil bunker capacity included deep tanks of 3,163 tons a range of 38,000 miles/17 knots.
