Japanese tanker Tofuku Maru chartered for refuelling the tuna vessels according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated July 1964 No. 7

An item reported that Nikkatsuren (the Japanese Federation of Tuna Fishermen’s Associations) chartered the 1,983 tons tanker Tofuku Maru for refuelling the tuna vessels at sea. She was to leave Yokohama, Japan on 13 May bound for the eastern Pacific. Except fo fuel she was also to carry fresh water and food for the refueled tuna vessels.(1)

1. Gross tonnage 1,983 tons, net tonnage 985 tons, deadweight 3,050 tons and as dimensions 269.0-282.8 x 41.0-41.6 x 21.3 x 28.4 1/2 feet, built by Sasebo Sempaku Kogyo-Sasabo in 1957, call sign JLEE, no. 542271.
