An item reported that there was no evidence that the number of enemy submarines in the Atlantic Theater was changed. An American cargo ship (apparently a bauxite ship) was on 26 April torpedoed in the Caribbean on a distance of about 80 miles north north east of Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles, the first ship since 16 April. In April were until now six attacks reported in the Caribbean or close to the eastward. Almost the same number of attacks in the general vicinity of Cape Hatteras as haven occured in all the rest of thr Atlantic Theater west of the longitude of the Azores. The last ten days were the attacks farther off shore, principally withina sector stretching from north east tot east sout east of Hatteras.
