The Guatemalan shrimp fishing fleet according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated August-September 1967 No. 8-9

An item reported that the Guatemalan commercial Pacific coast shrimp fishery started in 1960 with in recent years totalled about 30 Guatemala-flagged wood built vessels. Almost all vessels were built in Florida, USA, not older dan 4 years and with a varying length of 62-72 feet. The building methods were standardized to facilitate repairs and replacement of parts.
