American whaler W.C. Nye arrived at Mongonui, New Zealand according to the Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald dated 13 February 1860

An item dated Mongonui, New Zealand 23 January reported the arrival of the American whaler W.C. Nye 389 tons master J.M. Boule of New Bedford. She was 26.5 months out, had 400 barrels whale oil and sent since last season 900 barrels whale oil home.
