Ordered in 1913 under the 1913-1914 Program. Part of C-class light cruisers, Caroline-sub class, preceded by Arethusa-class, succeeded by Danae-class. Consisted of Caroline, Carysfort, Cleopatra, Comus, Conquest and Cordelia. Laid down by Cammell Laird and Company, Birkenhead, England on 28 January 1914, launched on 29 September 1914, completed in December 1914, drill ship Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve since April 1924, decommissioned on 31 March 2011. Became a museum ship at Belfast.
Displacement 4,287 tons. Armament consisted of 6x1-15.24cm/6” breech loading L/45 Mark XII guns,8x1-10.2cm/4”guns, 1x1-5.7cm/2.2”/6pd anti aircraft gun and 2x2-53.3cm/21” torpedo tubes. Speed 28.5 knots. Armour consisted of a 2,5cm-1”-7.6cm/3” waterline belt, a 2.5cm/1” deck and conning tower protected by 15.24cm/6”
