Naval personnel needed for handling paravanes on merchant ships according to the British War Cabinet meeting of 26 January 1917

In her meeting the War Cabinet took note of the Admiralty decision to fiut out merchant ships with paravanes as anti mine protection so far as as the necessary skilled personnel was available. The cabinet underline the necessity to pay off some of the older men-of-war and use their crews for handling paravanes and other tasks.
