A letter of the German naval attache in Japan dated Tokyo, Japan 2 March 1938 reported the launching on 31 January at the Kawasaki Zosenjo yard, Kobe, Japan of the Siamese gunboat Tombly. With a displacement of 2.265 tons were her dimensions 75,00 x 13,31 x 4,215 metres. Speed 15,5 nautical miles.(1)

1. The coastal defence ship Thonburi, sister ship of the Sri Ayudya, preceded by the Ratanakosidra-class. Laid down in 1936, stricken on 19 June 1959. Dimensions 76,50 x 14,43 x 4,17 metres or 251.0 x 47.4 x 13.8 feet. Main armament 2x2-20,3cm/8” guns.
