An item reported that the Japanese destroyer Nashi bombed and sunk in the Inland Sea during the Second World War was salvaged and completely repaired. Renamed Wakaba was she now used as training ship for the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force.(1)

1. Part of Tachibana-class destroyers, a modified Matsu or Type D-class design. Laid down by Kawasaki, Kobe, Japan on 1 September 1944, launched on 17 January 1945, commissioned on 15 March 1945, sunk on 28 July 1945, salvaged in 1955, renamed Wakaba (DE-261)and recomissioned on 31 May 1956, stricken on 31 March 1971 and broken up between 1972-1973.
