Japanese cargo ship Konsan Maru or Konzan Maru 1929-1944

Call sign JPZC. Laid down by Mitsui Bussan Kaisha Ld. Tama Dockyard on 11 March 1929, launched on 12 July 1929, completed on 31 August 1929, converted into an emergency tanker by Maizuru Naval Arsenal between 27 November 1942-12 January 1943, requisitioned by the navy and torpedoed and sunkh by the American submarine USS Tinosa (SS-283) in the East China Sea on 3 July 1944. Gross tonnage 2,733 tons, under deck 2,248 tons, net tonnage 1,556 tons and as dimensions 326.5 x 46.5 x 21.5 6.6 (light)-18 (loaded) feet. Diesel propulsion, 270 nhp, bunker oil capacity 220 tons, range around 10,500 nautical miles/10 knots and speed 10 (normal cruising)-12 (maximum) knots. Believed to be carrying oil in bulk.
