American Naval Attaché at London, England reported on 17 January 1939 No. 67 that the destroyer Beograd under construction for the Royal Yugoslavian Navy with success her full power trial on the Clyde executed maintaining during a high speed 8 hour run more as 38 knots continuously. Yarrow&Co. Limited designed and manufactured her machinery and boilers and would also deliver engines and boilers for her sister ships Zagreb and Ljubljana now under construction at Split, Yugoslavia.(1)

Laid down by Ateliers et Chantiers de la Loire, Nantes, France in 1936, launched on 23 December 1937, commisssioned on 28 April 1939, captured by Italy on 17 April 1941, renamed Sebenico and commissioned in August 1941, captured by Germany at Venice on 9 September 1943, renamed TA43, sunk or scutled at Trieste between 30 April-1 May 1945, salvaged in June 1946 and again scuttled in July 1946 or broken up in 1947 depending on the used sources.
