British screw steam corvette HMS Active 1867-1906

Part of Volage-class preceded by the Briton-class succeeded by Amethyst-class. Designed by the Director of Naval Construction 1863-1870 Sir Edward James Reed (20 September 1830 Sheerness-30 November 1906 London). Laid down by Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company, Blackwall, London, England in 1867, launched on 13 March 1869, commissioned in March 1871, decommissioned in 1898 and sold to be broken up on 10 July 1906.
