Design of an American scout cruiser dated April 1915

Prepared for discussions in the General Board dealing with the desired characteristics for cruisers in the future. Never built. Normal displacement 13,750 tons and as dimenions 740 (waterline) x 65 (waterline) x 18.6 feet. Block coefficient .541, longitudinal coefficient .601. Turbine propulsion, 7 boiler romms, 56,200 ehp/35 knots, speed 35 knots and range 10,000 nautical miles/10 knots. Armament 10-15.24cm/6” quick firing guns and 4-7.62cm/3” anti aircraft guns. Main side belt armour 17.6 extreme width, depth below waterline 5.0 feet, thickness 4”. Total thickness of protective deck 1.5”.
