Italian warships present in Spanish waters on 1 April 1937

American naval attaché at Rome, Italy reported on 7 April 1937 No. 179 that according to the Italian Ministry of Marine supplied a list of the organisation and position of the naval units on 1 April. The forces in the Spanish waters were reduces to the following

Exploratore Pigafetta at Malaga; the Navigatori class-destroyer Antonio Pigafetta (1928-1943)

Exploratore Da Mosta at Palma; the Navigatori class-destroyer Alvise Da Mosto (1928-1931)

Exploratore Da Recco at Tangiers; the Navigatori class-destroyer Nicoloso da Recco (1927-1930)

Exploratore Riboty at Cadiz; the Mirabello-class destroyer Augusto Riboty (1915-1917). An “esploratori” is a scout cruiser.
