An item referred to a new report dealing with the attack on Trincomalee, Ceylon. The Japanese sent 27 bombers and 40 fighters which seemed to belong to a naval force of 3 battleships, 4 aircraft carriers, 4-5 cruisers and 2 destroyers. British planes sighted this force 180 nautical miles east of Trincomalee. During the air attack were buildings, power lines etc heavily damaged, one ship damaged and a second one beached. The Japanese lost 21 planes, 12 probable, 2 damaged and another 12 uncertain by the British anti aircraft artillery. The British lost 7 fighters, 5 bombers and 4 bombers were damaged.
