An item referred to M/O Bandoeng reporting that on 23 December 1941 two Japanese convoys each consisting of around 3 transports and 2 cruisers or destroyers were sighted apparently underway to land at Menado (Manado, northern Celebes=Sulawesi) and Ternate. What was left of the Dutch aircraft would attack both convoys.
