Laid down as Bogue-class escort carrier USS Baffins by Seattle-Tacoma Shipbuilding Corporation on 18 July 1942, launched on 18 October 1942, transferred to the UK under Lend-Lease and commssioned as the Ruler-class escort carrier HMS Ameer D01 on 20 July 1943, returned to the US Navy on 17 January 1946. decommissioned on 20 March 1946, sold and became the merchant ship Robin Kirk on 17 September 1946 and broken up in Taiwan in 1969.
