Japanese cargo ship (ex-Saint Bede 1899-1911) Mituki Maru 1911-1942

Similar to the Anzan Maru (1915). Call sign JDBD. Launched by W. Pickersgill&Sons Ltd., Southwick, Sunderland, England with yard number 119 on 11 February 1899, completed in March 1899 and sunk after striking a mine laid by the American submarine USS Trigger 90 miles south of Daiozaki on 20 December 1942. Gross tonnage 3,894 tons, under deck 3,333 tons, netto tonnage 2,853 tons, deadweight 6,462 tons and as dimensions 350.0 x 46.2 x 17.6 x 7 (light)-22.3 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, coal bunker capacity 952 ton, range 7,600 nautical miles/9 knots, horsepower 302 nhp and speed 9 (normal cruising)-10 (maximum) knots.
