An item reported that the Japanese 1953-1954 Budget authorized the building of 2 destroyer escorts, 3 frigates, 1 cable layer, 1 minesweeper annex mine layer, 3 large and 3 small minesweepers, 8 submarine chasers and 9-60 tons type C patrol boats.
