An item reported that between September 1939-15 November 1941 Germany lost according to a reliable source 195 submarines excluded the 5-10 on the last date overdue. There was a great shortage of adequately trained submarine personnel (officers and sailors). Submarine officers earlier transferred to the Luftwaffe were called back.
