Norwegian merchant ship Høegh Merchant destroyed by Japanese submarine according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 15 December 1941

An item referred to COM 14 reporting that the Norwegian ship mv Heogh loaded with 100 tons of explosives was sunk 24 miles northeast of Oahu. All her officers believed probably by sabotage and not a torpedo.(1)

Note

1. The Høegh Merchant torpedoed by the Japanese submarine I6 (also claimed the I-4) 4 on 14 December 1941. Completed by Burmester&Wain, Copenhagen, Denmark in September 1934.
