Portuguese government selecting crews for USA bound Portuguese ships according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 31 January 1942

An item reported that the British passport control office at Lisbon informed the consul general there that the Portuguese government was selecting the crews of Portuguese ships bound for the USA. Regarded the Axis pressure, it was to be expected that among these crews were Axis agents.
